I witnessed my first solar eclipse yesterday. It was only 90% in NYC, so the city never got as dark as it does during totalities. Still, it was pretty fantastic to watch. I also took some photos. Not of the eclipse, of course, but of the watchers gathered in Domino Park, Brooklyn. Here are a few of those photos.
I will be doing a virtual talk tomorrow, April 10, at the Houston Center of Photography, where I’ll discuss my personal and editorial projects focusing on the ideas of leisure, gender politics, and cultural rites and rituals. I’ll also touch on remote photography and have a Q&A session at the end.
The talk is free and open to the public with registration.
