Hacking lackluster photoshoots is my photography equivalent of an escape room. When confronted with limited possibilities, I get a thrill from finding a way out. The results don’t always work out, but the process forces me to experiment outside of my usual style and edge my photography ever so slightly forward. Finding a way to shoot the Grammy’s red carpet in 2018 is one of my favorite stories of when a hopeless situation turned into one of my favorite portrait series.
